Naming
Lenovo's Data Center Solution Configurator is DCSC, and will be replacing DCACT.
Getting Help
First, make sure to reference the Lenovo Press Product Guides, for assistance, as there may be
some technical limitations and not a configurator issue. You can also work with a Lenovo
technical seller to get help with the configuration/solution. If you are sure it is a defect with the
DCSC, then as a Partner, you can contact a Lenovo representative to open a defect for you. As a
Lenovo seller, you can contact salesconfig@lenovo.com or contact your Inside Sales Support
Representative.
Configuration
The CTO products/solutions will be integrated by Lenovo and shipped together, with some
limitations, but the Preconfigured (TopSeller) mode configurations will not. Like the SSCT, all
options in your configuration/solution built in Preconfigured (TopSeller) mode will be shipped in
separate boxes.

Configure to Order
In this mode, the product model is Configured To Order with the desired hardware components.
This type of configuration is built and integrated by Lenovo Manufacturing.
Customize in PreConfigured (TopSeller)
Designed for quick order to ship from Distribution. In this mode, the configuration starts with a
standard model (pre-built configuration). Additional Option components can be added to the
standard configuration. This type of configuration is assemlbed and fulfilled by Lenovo Partners.
Solution Builder
Lenovo Solution Builder allows users to start a configuration with a blank diagram and where the
main function is to drag and drop products into the diagram in a 2 dimensional view. The tool is
designed for intermediate and expert users. Users are supplied with a rack centric view enabling
them to configure both racks and servers in complex general purpose solutions.
XML File Import
XML files for use into DCSC must have been created in DCSC. Old XML files from DCACT can not
be imported into DCSC.
